Evidence Based Medicine at the University of Ulm

------------------------------------------------------------------------

-» Deutsche Version

General information

Originally, I prepared a site themed "Centre for Evidence Based Medicine at the University of Ulm" for the AG Clinical Economics in 1997, after I had visited the course "How to teach EBM" in Oxford. It offered information for medical students, their teachers, patients and physicians, health insurances and politicians.

The CEBM site has been restructured by Christian Sellenthin until June, 1999, and is currently maintained by Richard Thim.

In January 2002, I've been invited to tutor an EBM course for students in Jena. It was a really nice experience, and stimulated by that, I am now putting some ressources up here again:

First, a download for you: My Diagnostic Importance Calculator. It calculates sensitivity, specificity, predictive values and likelihood ratios. Please also download this icon into the same directory as the executable file. More functionality can be added upon request, but for now: Have fun!

Second, as I've not found it easily on the current CEBM Ulm site, here's my original introduction to assessing the quality of an article about a diagnostic test. Please note that this is recycled ancient CEBM Ulm site content:

This page was originally meant only to guide you from my own site to the CEBM site. With the just added collection of links, however, it has become terribly preliminary... Well, for further information, please follow the links given below!
